  • Witold Pedrycz (Life Fellow, IEEE) received the M.Sc., Ph.D., and D.Sc. degrees from the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland, in 1977, 1980, and 1984, respectively. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, the Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland, the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Istinye University, Sariyer/Istanbul, Turkey, and also the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He has published numerous papers in these areas; the current H-index is 125 (Google Scholar). He is 82 on the list top-h scientists for computer science and electronics (https://www.guide2research.com/scientists/) (link is external). He is also the author of 21 research monographs and edited volumes covering various aspects of computational intelligence, data mining, and software engineering. His research interests include computational intelligence, fuzzy modeling and granular computing, knowledge discovery and data science, pattern recognition, data science, knowledge-based neural networks, and control engineering. In 2012, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. In 2007, he received the Prestigious Norbert Wiener Award from the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. He was a recipient of the IEEE Canada Computer Engineering Medal, the Cajastur Prize for Soft Computing from the European Centre for Soft Computing, the Killam Prize, the Fuzzy Pioneer Award from the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, and the 2019 Meritorious Service Award from the IEEE Systems Man and Cybernetics Society. He is vigorously involved in editorial activities. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Information Sciences, the Editor-in-Chief of WIREs Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery (Wiley), and the Co-Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Granular Computing (Springer) and Journal of Data Information and Management (Springer). He is a member of a number of editorial boards of international journals.

Prof. Giuseppe Carbone

Research field:Robotics and Mechatronics

Professor, University of Calabria, ITALY

Giuseppe Carbone is Professor at DIMEG, University of Calabria, since 2018. Since 2020 he is Chair of the IFToMM TC on Robotics and Mechatronics. He has got the Master and Ph.D. degree at University of Cassino (Italy) where he has been a Key Member of LARM (Laboratory of Robotics and Mechatronics) for about 20 years. He has carried out several periods of study and research abroad in Germany, Japan, China, South Korea, Brazil, Spain, UK, France, also delivering regular teaching courses in Spain and UK. The duties of his academic position include supervising or co- supervising students at bachelor, master, and PhD level as well as the supervision of several visiting scholars/researchers/professors from foreign countries. His research interests cover aspects of Robotics, Mechatronics, Engineering Design, Mechanics of Manipulation and Grasp with over 500 research paper outputs, 20 patents, and 16 Phd completions.

He edited/co-edited four books that have been published by Springer and Elsevier International Publishers. He has been member of about 20 PhD evaluation Commissions and Viva in Italy, Spain, Finland, UK, Romania, Mexico. He has delivered Invited Keynote or Plenary speeches or Seminars at more than 30 International events. He has been principal Investigator (PI) or co-PI of more than 20 projects including 7th European Framework, H2020 funds, Horizon Europe collecting more than 7 million Euros in competitive funds. He serves in the editorial board of several international journals, including being Editor-in-Chief of ROBOTICA (Cambridge Univ. Press), Section Editor in Chief of Journal of Bionic Engineering (Springer), Machines (MDPI), Robotics (MDPI), Technical Editor of IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, Associate editor of IEEE RA-L, ASME Journal of Autonomous Vehicles and Systems, Advanced Robotic Systems and many others.

Ljiljana Trajkovic

Ljiljana Trajkovic received the Dipl. Ing. degree from University of Pristina, Yugoslavia, the M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of California at Los Angeles. She is currently a professor in the School of Engineering Science, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Her research interests include communication networks and dynamical systems. She served as IEEE Division X Delegate/Director, President of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society, and President of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. Dr. Trajkovic serves as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems and Associate Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Open Journal of Systems Engineering. She served as a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Circuits and System Society and a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. She is a Fellow of the IEEE.

Ata Jahangir Moshayedi

Research field:Electronic Science

Associate Professor, IEEE Member, ACM Member, Azad University of Khomeinishahr, Isfahan, Iran

Dr. Ata Jahangir Moshayedi, an Associate Professor at Azad University of Khomeinishahr, holds a PhD in Electronic Science from Savitribai Phule Pune University in India. He is a distinguished member of IEEE and ACM, as well as a Life Member of the Instrument Society of India and a Lifetime Member of the Speed Society of India. Additionally, he contributes to the academic community as a valued member of various editorial teams for international conferences and journals. Dr. Moshayedi's academic achievements are, marked by a portfolio of over 90 papers published across esteemed national and international journals and conferences along with 3 books on robotics (VR and mobile olfaction) and embedded systems. In addition to his scholarly publications, he has authored three books and is credited with two patents and nine copyrights, emblematic of his pioneering contributions to the field. His research interest includes Robotics and Automation/ Sensor modeling/Bio-inspired robot, Mobile Robot Olfaction/Plume Tracking, Embedded Systems / Machine vision-based Systems/Virtual reality, and Machine vision/Artificial Intelligence. Currently, Dr. Moshayedi is actively engaged in pioneering work at Jiangxi University, where he is developing a model for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and advancing the realm of Food Delivery Service Robots.

    Pascal Lorenz received his M.Sc. (1990) and Ph.D. (1994) from the University of Nancy, France. He has been a professor since 1995 at the University of Haute-Alsace, France. He is the author/co-author of 3 books, 3 patents, and 200 international publications in refereed journals and conferences. He was Technical Editor of the IEEE Communications Magazine Editorial Board (2000-2006), IEEE Networks Magazine since 2015, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology since 2017, Chair of IEEE ComSoc France (2014-2020), Financial chair of IEEE France (2017-2022), Chair of Vertical Issues in Communication Systems Technical Committee Cluster (2008-2009), Chair of the Communications Systems Integration and Modeling Technical Committee (2003-2009), Chair of the Communications Software Technical Committee (2008-2010) and Chair of the Technical Committee on Information Infrastructure and Networking (2016-2017). He has served as Co-Program Chair of IEEE WCNC'2012 and ICC'2004, Executive Vice-Chair of ICC'2017, TPC Vice Chair of Globecom'2018, Panel sessions co-chair for Globecom'16, tutorial chair of VTC'2013 Spring and WCNC'2010, track chair of PIMRC'2012 and WCNC'2014, symposium Co-Chair at Globecom 2007-2011, Globecom'2019, ICC 2008-2010, ICC'2014 and '2016. He has served as Co-Guest Editor for special issues of IEEE Communications Magazine, Networks Magazine, Wireless Communications Magazine, Telecommunications Systems and LNCS. He is an associate Editor for the International Journal of Communication Systems (IJCS-Wiley), Journal on Security and Communication Networks (SCN-Wiley) and International Journal of Business Data Communications and Networking, Journal of Network and Computer Applications (JNCA-Elsevier). He is a senior member of the IEEE, IARIA fellow, and member of many international program committees. He has organized many conferences, chaired several technical sessions, and gave tutorials at major international conferences.

Kaishun Wu

Research field:computer science; engineering

IEEE/IET/AAIA Fellow, DSA Thrust and IoT Thrust, Information Hub,Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)

Professor WU Kaishun is the Associate Vice President for Research of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST(GZ)), providing an overall leadership for the research development and management on campus, fostering the research culture within the community and enhancing communication with funding agencies. He is also a full professor of the DSA & IoT Thrust Area under the Information Hub.Prof. Wu received his PhD degree in computer science and engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Before joining HKUST(GZ) as a full professor at DSA Thrust and IoT Thrust, he was a distinguished Professor and Director of Guangdong Provincial Wireless Big Data and Future Network Engineering Center at Shenzhen University. Prof. Wu is an active researcher with more than 200 papers published on major international academic journals and conferences, as well as more than 100 invention patents, including 9 from the USA. He is also the owner of Special Allowance Expert of the State Council, winner of the National May 1st Labor Medal and the National Ten Thousand Talent Project, Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding National Contributions, IET Fellow, National Youth Special Expert and Ministry of Education New Century Excellent Talent. His groundbreaking work has inspired many researchers in recent years, as a result he was in the list of The World’s Top 2% Scientists, 2020 - 2023 (published by Stanford University) and Highly Cited Chinese Researchers, 2020 - 2023 (published by Elsevier).

Internationally, Prof. Wu has also received many best paper awards including International Conference on Sensing, Communication and Networking (IEEE SECON 2018), IEEE International Conference on Mobile Ad-Hoc and Smart Systems (MASS 2014). He also received the 2014 IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award.

Zhijun Zhang

Prof. Zhang is National top young talents, IEEE CIS (Computational Intelligence) Chairman of Guangzhou Chapter and IEEE Senior member. The director of the bionic intelligent robot laboratory of South China University of Technology, the director of the Hongqian Intelligent Human Machine Interaction Joint Laboratory of South China University of Technology, the director of the Tianxia Valley Artificial Intelligence and Digital Agriculture Joint Laboratory of South China University of Technology, the high-level talent scholar of South China University of Technology, the outstanding youth of Guangdong Province, and the top young talents of Guangdong Province in scientific and technological innovation. He has been engaged in neural network, machine learning, big data analysis, control optimization, swarm unmanned system and robot research for a long time. He is an editorial board member of the SCI journal Electronics, an executive editor in chief of the Global Journal of Neural Science, an associate editor in chief of the International Journal of Robotics and Control, and a reviewer of more than 20 international SCI professional journals, Evaluator of China National Foundation Committee and Guangdong Provincial High tech Enterprise. Zhang Zhijun has published more than 100 papers in important international journals (such as nature sub journal, IEEE Transactions) and conferences, 83 papers in SCI journals, and edit 2 English works. The total number of citations is 2998. It has accepted more than 100 invention patents and authorized 46 invention patents. Presided over or participated in more than 30 national key R&D projects, NSFC and horizontal projects.
